Start with the blade: D2 tool steel. Heat-treated to 58-61 HRC, it's one of the hardest, toughest steels out there. It holds an edge like nothing else, and the black BK-1 coating adds corrosion resistance and durability.
The handle is machined from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum. Same stuff they build planes with. The textured grip—Benchmade calls it "Bi-Directional Tread Pattern"—keeps it rock solid, even with wet or gloved hands.
